Minerals
Management Service instituted regulations for temporarily
abandoned wells in water depths of 300 feet or less.
In the regulation, it states the company must protect
the protruding apparatus with a Net Guard. In order
to establish the quality of the device, the company
must test it. A trawling vessel must pull its nets over
the device a sufficient number of times and in a sufficient
number of directions to ensure 100 percent coverage
of all potential device impediments. A report of the
activities on each line is recorded.

The
navigation system employed by B & J Martin, Inc. utilizes
a Trimble Model 4000 Differential Surveyor using DGPS signals
generated by the United States Coast Guard. Computers and
peripherals aboard each vessel allow real time post mission
analysis through the use of computer graphics and hard copy
presentation. One hundred percent backup is provided on all
vessels.
B
& J Martin, Inc. currently has two 85' trawl boats equipped
with skilled and reliable crew and equipment. With our experience
in over 10 successful Net Guard projects completed, we are
confident that we can meet your highest expectations.
