The
company was founded in 1947 by Beauregard Martin from
Galliano, Louisiana. After many successful years of croaker
fishing, oystering and shrimping, the company was incorporated
in 1967. It was in 1978, that B & J Martin Inc. ventured
into the oil industry. Owning and operating supply, utility,
and fishing vessels in the Gulf of Mexico for 30 plus
years has enabled us to acquire knowledge and skill by
study and experience. In 1990, the company's experience
in the trawling industry was an essential part in United
States Department of the Interior MMS site clearance NTL.
As an accomplished businessman, Jimmie Martin also applied
his trawling experience to design and patent the Gorilla
Net®,
an apparatus to aid in the removal of the debris from
the ocean floor. In 1996, the Martin's ventured into a
different sector of oil industry. The leasing of United
States Coast Guard approved, A-60 rated, portable offshore
living quarters is also one of the company's services.
